About Priya
📍 Minneapolis, MN
Priya Anand has spent a decade sharing a bed with a partner whose temperature preferences are the exact opposite of hers, in a city (Minneapolis) that swings between brutal winters and humid summers. She compiles The Cool Cozy's recommendations from specs, materials research, and the consensus of long-term owners on both sides of the hot/cold divide.
How I pick. I don't run a testing lab. I compare specs, materials, and temperature-regulation claims against what's actually held up in our house and what long-term owners report elsewhere — the "worked great for a month then lost its cooling effect" pattern, the "warmer than advertised" complaints, the stuff that only shows up after a season of real use. When a product looks good on paper but owners report it failing at the one thing it's supposed to do, the owners win.
What I won't do. No pretending I've personally slept under every blanket or pillow reviewed here — most recommendations come from research and owner consensus, not hands-on testing, and I'll say so plainly when that's the case. No treating "cooling" or "warming" as a personality — most households have both a hot sleeper and a cold sleeper in them, and the site is built around that reality rather than picking a side.
